Important Tips

Proper care

It’s always best to get your trophy to our shop as quickly as possible - same day is best.  If it is impossible to connect with us the same day - make sure to either refrigerate (overnight at the most) or preferably freeze to help guard against spoilage.

Freeze birds immediately and make sure they are kept in a sealed freezer bag and delivered to us as quickly as possible.

Don’t make any cuts on small game or birds - they should be frozen whole.

Shoulder Mounts

See photo below.  Make cuts as shown below - carefully working to avoid cutting any unnecessary holes.  When in doubt - it is always best to leave more skin than you think is necessary.

A note on European Mounts

Not all European mounts are done with the same level of care and expertise.  We have done hundreds of European mounts on many different species, including deer, elk, bear, sheep, alligators, hogs, African and other exotic game and Longhorn cattle.

Make sure you are truly getting a quality job done on all your trophies.  Stop by our shop and see examples of some of the work we have done.

Professional mounts:

  1. Aren’t chalky and brittle.
  2. Don’t have missing or loose nose bones and teeth.
  3. Have natural looking antlers - not bleached or charred from lack of care.
  4. Aren’t painted - they are properly cleaned and whitened.
  5. Most importantly don’t have insect problems that can spread throughout your entire collection.

How much is your trophy worth?

If it’s worth doing - it’s worth doing right.  Thats what we do...
